Ordinances
The purpose of City ordinances is to benefit, protect, and insure the safety, health, beauty, and peaceful tranquility of our neighborhood. Please review the following partial list and make any needed adjustments. Thank you for your cooperation. If you have any questions, please contact us.
Sanitation
Household garbage, yard waste, and recyclable items must be stored in sanitary containers and placed at curb for pick-up no earlier than 6:00 p.m. the night before collection. For household trash, you may place your containers at your curb for pick-up after 6:00 p.m. Monday night. For yard waste, containers for pick-up may be placed at curb after 6:00 p.m. Wednesday night. All containers must be removed from the curb and stored out of view by 6:00 p.m. on the day of collection. Please note, the City will not pick-up cardboard boxes that have not been flattened.
Pick-up of large and/or over-sized items (including appliances, lawnmowers, mattresses, furniture, building materials, paint cans, screen doors, etc.) should be arranged in advance by purchasing a sticker and scheduling a collection time as these items will not be collected under our normal collection service. Please call the City of Roswell Environmental Dept. at 770-641-3715 for more information and to make the necessary arrangments for pick-up of these types of items.
Vehicle Parking
Vehicle parking is allowed for each single-family dwelling unit only on a hard-surface (asphalt, concrete) driveway. Parking is not allowed on curb or lawn areas. Parking of more than 4 vehicles per household in a manner visible from a public street is unlawful. Inoperable cars (including partially dismantled or wrecked cars) cannot be parked in public view for more than 10 hours.
Recreational equipment & vehicles (such as boats, flatbed trailers, RVs, campers, etc.) can only be parked on a hard-surface driveway for the sole purpose of loading/unloading and for a period not to exceed 24 hours.
