It’s that time again! Time to make your junk someone else’s treasure. The Kensington Square Neighborhood Garage sale will be Saturday, May 22 from 8-2. Last year we ended up having our sale the same weekend as Spring Ridge, which I think hurt us a little. Hopefully this year we’ll get a lot more traffic! As usual, just respond here or in the forum with your name and address if you want to participate and I will get the appropriate permits from city hall.

Roswell Farmer’s Market is Moving

Riverside Farmer’s Market: Opening in New Location

The Riverside Farmer’s Market will be returning for its third year of selling local produce and more. Instead of taking place at Riverside Park as in past years, the market will be held at Roswell City Hall, 38 Hill Street, beginning May 15 and ending October 30. Hours will be every Saturday 8 a.m. to noon.

“Our new location at Roswell City Hall will be a great asset with plenty of parking, shade and an extended marketing season. Music, family events and North Fulton Master Gardeners will be there each week, as well as our favorite vendors from the past, along with plenty of new ones! As always, our roots are solidly planted in Georgia soil, our produce is all fresh and local,” stated Louise Estabrook, who coordinates the market in partnership with the City.

The market will continue to offer fresh, locally grown produce. Vendors must grow their own produce, not resale and the produce must be grown within 100 miles of the market. Prospective vendors can get more information by contacting Louise Estabrook at 404-613-7670.

Entrance Lights

I just wanted to post an update regarding the entrance. As most of you have probably noticed, a company has been doing work along Old Alabama. After they worked by our entrance, the lights on our sign seem to have been disconnected. I have contacted the company, Cardno, and received a prompt response. They have promised to come look at the entrance and see what happened.

If anyone is interested, they said they are doing:

We are currently performing non-invasive vacuum excavation at this area for Ga. DOT. We are obtaining vertical elevations on utility lines and providing that information to the DOT.

Neighborhood Meeting Tomorrow Night!

This is a reminder that the annual Kensington Square HOA meeting is tomorrow night. This year we are meeting at the Roswell Library at 6:30 p.m.

The Roswell Library is near historic Roswell, on Norcross St off of Alpharetta Hwy. The address is 115 Norcross St, Roswell, GA 30075. The meeting room is to the left when you first walk in the building.

We will be discussing the agenda for the year ahead as well as addressing any concerns. Snacks and drinks will be available. Please come by to say hello!

2009 Holiday Decorating Contest

There’s a chill in the air and a warm spirit running through the neighborhood. It’s time for the 2009 Holiday Decorating Contest! It’s easy to participate. Just make sure you are current on your HOA dues, then decorate your house any way you find most festive. A winner will be chosen December 24th!

(Only houses that paid their dues last year or turn in this year’s dues before the 24th will be eligible.)

Security Alert!

We had an ipod stolen from our garage last night. This is a reminder to keep your doors locked, garage doors down and be alert for suspicious activity!

Update: We have learned that other items have been taken from at least 1 other home recently. Please notify the HOA & police if you have had any items stolen from your property. Working together, we can make our neighborhood a safer place!

Neighborhood Garage Sale is tomorrow!

The weather calls for scattered thunderstorms starting in the afternoon so hopefully we’ll be ok. If it is pouring in the morning and is still raining by 9 am we will officially postpone. Otherwise… we will be putting up some fresh signs on Old Alabama in the am. If you want to put up additional signs pointing the way to your house, I have extra permit stickers at our house (145 Sheringham Dr).

Garage Sale this Saturday

Ok, weather.com changes every 5 minutes, but as of right now it said cloudy for Saturday. If it does end up raining, hopefully it will just be scattered. I’m headed out to get our permit today and will post a sign on Old Alabama tomorrow. I will also post an ad on craigslist. If you want to participate and haven’t responded with your address yet, you still can. Per Roswell’s regulations, you will need to go to city hall and apply for an individual permit. (If you have already responded with an address you will not need to file an individual permit!)
